River County has five convenience centers located in Roseland,
Winter Beach, Gifford, Old Dixie in Vero Beach, and a Sanitary
Landfill where residents can drop off garbage, recyclables,
"Sharps", household hazardous waste, and yard waste
at no charge. Construction, Demolition and Land Clearing Debris
such as branches over 3" in diameter and stumps are chargeable
and must be brought directly to the landfill. The centers are
for residential use only. Businesses are not to use the convenience
centers.
The Convenience
Centers and the Landfill are closed New Year's Day, July 4th,
Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. |

Helpful
Hints: All Convenience Centers are closed on Wednesdays, New Year's
Day,
July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In
addition to your regular residential curbside recycling material,
Convenience Centers accept cardboard, office paper magazines,
motor oil (under 2 gallons) and telephone books (from September
1 through January 15th) for recycling. Convenience Centers also
accept household hazardous waste such as cell phone batteries,
oil based paint, items containing mercury and "Sharps".
Yard waste more than a small pick up truck or over 3" in
diameter must be brought to the Landfill. Please remember that
when you residentially recycle at the curb you will not receive
a bill from the haulers and will reduce the amount of waste
you will have to bring to the Convenience Centers or the Landfill.
You have two blue bins. . . Use them to recycle! |
